Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS)

The Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) is the mandatory pre-employment screening for all civil servants, members of the armed forces, temporary staff, and government contractors in the UK.

The BPSS is designed to protect government assets by reducing the risk of illegal workers and identity fraud, and to check that individuals have the honesty, integrity, and values required to work with sensitive information. It's not a formal security clearance, but it’s a key part of the national security vetting process.

At Quay Facilities, we have successfully completed BPSS screening through Security & Vetting Solutions (SVS). This accreditation allows us to take on projects involving sensitive information. It also underscores our commitment to maintaining our reputation as industry leaders and trusted experts.

Safety Schemes in Procurement (SSIP)

Safety Schemes in Procurement (SSIP) is an umbrella organisation that sets the gold standard for construction health and safety. They don't directly assess companies, but they approve independent schemes that meet their strict criteria. This criteria includes:

• The delegation of health and safety responsibilities
• Access to health and safety information
• Health and safety advisors
• Health and safety training arrangements
• Individuals having necessary health and safety qualifications
• Monitoring and auditing health and safety processes

By choosing a contractor approved by an SSIP member scheme, you can be confident that work will be carried out safely and securely; this is especially important for construction projects in public areas.

Quay Facilities are annually assessed against SSIP criteria by SafeContractor, a trusted SSIP member scheme. We also hold a current SMAS certificate, another respected health and safety certification that falls under the SSIP umbrella. All our employees are fully trained and qualified, so you can be confident that any work we do on your site will be completed to the highest safety standards.

Construction Industry Scheme (CIS)

The Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) is a programme run by HMRC that deals with how taxes are handled in construction projects involving contractors and subcontractors. As CIS members, the responsibility for tax deductions and some reporting is on us, so you have less paperwork and administrative hassle to deal with. You can also have confidence that our services comply with tax regulations, which can be helpful in avoiding any unexpected liabilities down the line.

Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS)

The Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) is a programme that verifies training and qualifications for workers in the construction industry.

All members of the Quay Facilities team are CSCS cardholders, demonstrating our awareness of necessary health and safety measures and our commitment to industry standards and best practices.

Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Certificate

The Quay Facilities team have undergone enhanced background checks by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). When you choose us, you can be confident you're hiring reliable individuals who are qualified for the job.

International Powered Access Federation (IPAF)

The International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) is an organisation that promotes the safe and effective use of powered access equipment.

The Quay Facilities team have undergone IPAF training on the use of mobile elevating work platforms, which proves our commitment to safety and following best practices when working at height.

Prefabricated Access Suppliers’ & Manufacturers’ Association (PASMA)

The Prefabricated Access Suppliers’ & Manufacturers’ Association (PASMA) is the world’s leading organisation for mobile access towers, also known as scaffold towers. Their main goal is to improve safety in the industry.

By getting PASMA-certified, we've shown we can safely put together, use, and take down these towers whenever a job needs them.

UK Asbestos Training Association (UKATA)

UK Asbestos Training Association (UKATA) is a leading organisation focused on asbestos awareness and training. They protect workers and the public from the dangers of asbestos by making sure people who might encounter it are properly trained.

Our team have been trained by a UKATA-approved provider, which means we have awareness of safe working practices around asbestos. We can also identify asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) so we can avoid them while working on your property.
