A roller shutter came to a tyre shop’s rescue recently when it stopped would-be thieves getting their hands on the stock stored safely inside.
The incident occurred at the Leicester based UK Tyres earlier in the year and saw the group of would-be thieves attempt to ram open roller shutters with a car that had been stolen 2 days prior to the attempted burglary. Despite damaging the shutters with the vehicle, the gang were still unable to enter the property and steal the tyres because the roller shutters remained in the way. The business owner, while grateful nothing was stolen, has been left shaken by the event. Fortunately, one of the men involved was caught and sentenced to 20 months in prison.
