Quay Facilities was appointed by Currie Easy Self Storage in Twickenham to replace an existing roller shutter that was no longer fit for purpose. The previous shutter, installed by another contractor, lacked the necessary specifications to meet the demands of a busy self-storage facility. Our team carried out the safe removal and disposal of the original shutter, before supplying and installing a new heavy-duty 3-phase electric roller shutter. The new shutter was powder-coated to match the building’s existing façade, ensuring a professional and seamless finish. As part of the installation, we also fitted a modern control panel, fully commissioned the system, and completed a full operational handover with the client, including performance checks and user training.
The previous installation had failed to consider the operational intensity of the site, particularly the need for a motor with a high duty cycle. This had led to ongoing performance issues and increased maintenance requirements. Our replacement roller shutter was selected and configured to handle high-frequency daily use without the risk of overheating or failure. As a result, the client now benefits from a significantly more reliable and secure access solution.
