In February 2024, JJ Rhatigan, a well-known construction company with projects across the UK and Ireland, got in touch with Quay Facilities looking to have two electric roller shutters installed in one of their garages. As a returning customer, they already trusted the quality and reliability of our work and came back to us knowing they'd get the same great results for this new project.

Purpose: JJ Rhatigan needed two new roller shutter doors for their garage to keep parked vehicles safe, while also providing easy and quick access to the space.
Process: JJ Rhatigan needed two 3-phase portcullis garage roller shutters installed, complete with all the essential safety features, easy access for maintenance, and enough headroom for people to pass through.
We worked closely with them to create a custom shutter system that would fit into their building's structure. Once the design and manufacturing process was complete, we delivered the shutters to the client's site and took care of the entire installation.
One of the biggest challenges was the limited headroom due to the building's design. We solved this by custom-designing the head assembly, which meant cutting into the concrete slab above the shutters to maximise the available headroom. This adjustment gave JJ Rhatigan the maximum headroom they needed while still allowing easy maintenance access.
The project was a success. By customising the installation and carefully fitting the roller shutters into the existing concrete structure, we were able to save JJ Rhatigan from having to make major structural changes or alternative solutions that could have delayed the project considerably. This ended up saving them a lot on both labour and materials.
JJ Rhatigan was pleased with our creative approach and attention to detail, especially how we managed to fit the shutters while keeping maintenance access simple. They appreciated the smooth installation process and the significant cost savings we were able to deliver.
